Far Flung Geezers: The Competition

The score:
We thought it might be helpful to other geezers to clarify how the scoring system works. There's no better way to illustrate this than with a worked example, so we've considered this picture of Rudi, which could conveniently be classed as entry #1 in the Far Flung Geezer competition.

Now clearly this picture isn't going to win the competition! In fact it's altogether a sorry effort, but nevertheless it provides a nice exercise to test out our agreed scoring system. So here goes:

Well, even without using the official spreadsheet it's easy to see that Rudi scores some points at least for straight-line distance from the Stoop, and rather better for the famous monument. On clothing he scores well for a shirt that's three seasons out of date but loses points for the shades. The overall geezer factor, of course, is severely limited by the absence of trews, but in this case the omission can be partially forgiven because it's clearly to enable him to hide a slapstick in his pocket. Indeed it's this last item with which he scores impressively.

Lastly, Rudi's unlucky that the Belgian Exemption doesn't apply in this location otherwise he'd be able to double up, but nevertheless I still calculate a respectable score of 157 points on the open-ended FFG scale (subject, of course to confirmation from the panel).

Well done Rudi but I am sure we will see better.....

Many thanks to Kwin for helping with the scoring system
